Joshua Levi Corrigan was born last night, December 21st! Sally went into labor starting around 9pm and Joshua was born at 2:55am! Everything went so smooth, Sally was able to have him all natural, which in this day in age is rare, and the nurses were shocked. Joshua is a perfect little guy. He is 8 lbs 5 oz and is doing awesome! What a Christmas present to have a son born. So this Christmas season we are truly celebrating the incarnation of out LORD in a very unique way. Just thinking about how we had nurses at our care, monitors hooked up to Sally's belly, an awesome labor room with a huge whilrpool tub to labor in..... the perfect conditions. Plus when Joshua came out we had professionals make sure every square inch of him was healthy. He was wrapped in these perfect little blankets with a climate controlled room to make sure he is taken care of. Just think..... this was not so with our God becoming a baby! Wow what does this say about the nature of our LORD! He was wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger...... subject to the elements of the world!

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth - John 1:14

Baby boy Corrigan is coming in mid December. We are so excited to meet him!! Being our third boy we have most of the items we need, but there are still a few things that we would like for this little guy. Sally and I finally are going to close on our new house that we are purchasing!! However, its going to be a lot of work to get it move in ready and ready for baby boy #3 (who is coming mid December!!!). So if you live in Kansas City we really need your help. We need to paint every square inch of the interior of the home (because FHA is requiring us too), as well as deep cleaning and other misc jobs. The Lord is building the house of prayer in Kenya! And Kenya needs our help to purchase instruments so that they can get singers and musicians ministering to God all over that nation.

More details... IHOP-KC has a 6 month internship called The ACTS School (Apostolic Center for Training and Sending). They train for 3 months here and then are sent to a foreign country preaching the gospel and building houses of prayer. IHOP-KC currently has one of our teams in Kenya and the house of prayer over there is in need of instruments! So this is where we come in

One thing Internship

Ryan was just hired on staff with the one thing internship!! It is an internship for young adults ages 18-25. He is a core leader for 12 young men, getting to pour into and teach them over these next six months. We are excited about this new season for our family. I know that Ryan will do an amazing job mentoring these guys! I'm excited to see how they grow and change over these next six months. Please pray for the internship, the leaders and all the interns that they would get everything they can out of the internship and walk away more in love with Jesus. Malay Christians Face 'Faith Purification' Centers

KUALA LUMPAR, Malaysia -- Living as a Christian in a Muslim nation can carry severe risks and suffering.

CBN News traveled to Malaysia -- a country that presents itself as a model for Islamic moderation, yet has many former Muslims who say they are persecuted after finding Christ.

A two-hour journey from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur revealed an isolated encampment where some Christian converts say they've been taken to be forced back to Islam.

'Faith Purification'

The Malaysian government calls the facilities "retreat centers." Muslims willingly come there to strengthen their faith.

CBN News spoke to one Christian, who asked to remain anonymous, in fear he would be taken back to what others have called "faith purification" facilities.

"They were clearly angry and they wanted to kill me, but they did not harm me physically," he recalled. "I know of many others. They force you to recite Islamic prayers and the Koran, to do all the things you're suppose to do as a Muslim."

"They're trying to force us to believe what we can't believe," the man continued. "These re-education centers come from the power of darkness."

"Nathan," another former Muslim who's identity is being protected, said he lost his property, job, and family after officials learned he'd become a Christian. He's hiding from the government.

"I've lost it all (but) does it matter? I mean, Jesus said in the Word what we should seek for is everlasting treasure," Nathan explained. "I have counted my cost. I count my cost and I don't mind paying for it... even if it means losing my life."

Christian Growth Targeted

Traditionally, Malays are Muslim. Five years ago, there were less than 200 Malay Christians in the country. Today, there are an estimated 1,000 or more.

That growth is a target of the government and its religious department. During the summer, officials halted the construction of a church building in Kelantan state.

"The religious department head said, 'This place is a Muslim place, and the people here are all Muslims. So you have no right to come in and evangelize the people here,'" Pastor Luzone, with the Kuala Betis Church, recalled.

Luzone said most locals there are not Muslims, and those who have become Christian need a church building.

"We have been gathering in houses and sometimes under trees, but we wanted to have our own place for worship," he said. "But I believe no matter what the cost we have to pay as Christians here, our people will be followers of Jesus."

Risking Their Lives

And that belief has inspired many Malay Christians to share their faith with others.

One evangelist told CBN News that angry Muslims beat him up and smashed his car. Yet, he presses on because many of his countrymen are receptive to the gospel message.

"When I began to pray for the sick, we saw instant results sometimes," he said. "People were just amazed at the miracles and they wanted to hear about the power behind the healing. And they receive Jesus so easily."

Christians from the Temiar tribe said Muslims lured fellow believers in a neighboring village away from Christ.

"I have a sister who was a Christian, but has become a Muslim now," one woman said. "Muslims came and gave them money, a house, and a regular supply of food."

Above All

Still, many of the Christians in the Temiar tribe stand firm.

"No way. This village will stand for the Lord," one Malay girl said.

"Who is going to reach out to my own people if it's not me?" Nathan asked. "The joy in Christ transcends even persecution. The joy of loving Christ is more than anything else."

Iraq’s Christians Under Heavy Persecution

With all the election hoopla in the United States this week, little media attention is being given to the al-Qaeda inspired massacre against Iraqi Christians. Did you know this was the worst targeted attack against them since the start of the Iraq war in 2003? At least 58 people were killed, 41 of them were Christian. 80 people were injured.

CBN News has learned from our sources that the targeted church--Our Lady of Salvation Church is deeply engaged in a youth outreach ministry and church members have often volunteered to distribute Bibles. Among those killed in the attack was Rev. Waseem Sabeh, a young, popular priest who was actively involved in demonstrating the love of Christ in Baghdad.

But perhaps one of the most disturbing details of this massacre came from our friends at the Voice of the Martyrs. One of their country contacts reports that a rescued hostage in the church looked on in horror as one of the Islamic terrorists forced a gun into the mouth of a three-year-old boy and pulled the trigger.

It's apparent this bloody massacre of children, women and priests was another attempt by Islamists to purge their nation of "infidels" by frightening Christians into leaving Iraq. But Christians are more Iraqi (as Open Doors President Carl Moeller points out) than Muslims; the arrival of Christianity in the country preceded Islam by more than 600 years--St. Thomas brought the gospel to the people of Mesopotamia about 33 A.D. The early church was based in the modern day Kurdish city of Irbil.

Nearly 2,000 years later, Iraqi Christians are being squeezed by threat of extinction. Several decades ago their numbers exceeded 1 million, but today only about 450,000 remain.

Despite the persecution they face, many bold believers are determined to stay so the Christian presence in their country may continue. They're Iraqis like Rev. Meyassr al-Qasboutros who was quoted by The New York Timesas saying, "We must die here... we can't leave this country."

James is walking!!

Well....James is officially walking all around. He has been taking steps for the last few weeks but now he has been building up the endurance to walk from room to room. He's so cute and so proud of himself as he takes these little tiny steps and shuffles around; he smiles, yells and claps as he walks around. He's growing up so fast!! The boys are having fun playing together and John is having to better learn how to share with his ever curious little brother who gets into EVERYTHING. Fall is a Beautiful time of year in KC

Fall is our favorite time of year in K.C. its really the only time when its not crazy hot or super cold. Even in the spring it rains so much that the fall is hands down the best time of year here. Here is a picture of us enjoying one of the nicest parks in K.C. You know interestingly enough that the end of September and beginning of October is the beginning of the Jewish year. Our God, Jesus, if fully God but He is also a Jewish man forever. This means that God doesn't shift and change based upon our greek calendar but the times and seasons really do change in the earth based upon the Jewish calendar. The beginning of the Jewish calendar year starts with the day of atonement followed by the feast of booths. This is a time when all the people are to spend time in focused repentance for their sin and compromise over the last year and also recommit themselves to love God wholeheartedly. This happened in Israel at the end of September this year. The amazing thing is that God releases grace upon the church who have been grafted into the Jewish remnant of believers to also join in this corporate time or repentance. Also, if you don't think these feasts are important to God then read the last few chapters in Zechariah. These tell us that when Jesus comes back to rule upon the earth then all of the nations will come up to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of booths and if they don't come He will send judgment upon their nations! We need to understand God's heart and purpose for the nation of Israel during this time, and we too need to allow God's heart to be our heart for the Jewish people and the city of Jerusalem.

10 years ago Lou Engle gathered 400,000 young people in D.C. to fast, pray, and cry out for God to have mercy on America and release revival to our nation. Since D.C there has been many call events and Lou Engle as well as many others in the prayer movement have been attacked by the main stream media. However, God is doing an awesome work in the church in our nation in many ways one of which is He is bring together many different "streams" in the body of Christ to fast & pray in accordance with Joel Chapter 2.

One of the main instrumental leaders that the Lord is using to call the nation to prayer is Vonette Bright. She was married to Bill Bright (who recently passed away). Bill Bright built one of the largest missions organizations in History called Campus Crusade for Christ. This missions organization has been highly regarded in the eyes of main stream protestant Christianity for decades. Now, Vonette Bright (Co-Founder of Campus Crusade) is taking a bold stand calling all the mainstream evangelical church to fasting & prayer with Lou Engle & the call. If you didn't know the prayer movement is no longer this small band of so called radicals. Many of the main leaders in the body of Christ like Vonettte Bright, Lauren Cunnigham (YWAM), and Shirley Dobson (Co-Founder of Focus on the Family) have seen the value and necessity of the prayer movement and they are not only validating it; they are calling the church to it. We need to recapture a culture that values life in the Church again. The Lord told Adam and Eve to be Fruitful and multiply....Malachi 2:15 tells us that the purpose for marriage is to have Godly offspring. Mathematically multiplication doesn't start till we have at least 3 children. So we need to start valuing life again.....you know in the old testament men were considered great if they had a large family. The larger the family the greater the man was considered. American culture is infused with a self preservation spirit that produces people that are focused mostly on their own personal careers or "callings" and so children are deemed to be in-convenient. 98% of all abortions in the U.S. are a result of the child being in-convenient, with only 2% being related to rape, or life threatening situation. The video below is showing us that because the Muslims are having children at a very rapid rate that all of Europe and eventually the U.S. will be Muslim nations.....if something doesn't change. However, Amos 9:11 says that The Lord is going to rebuild the fallen tabernacle of David (night & Day worship/prayer) so that He (Jesus) can possess the remnant of Edom (or Esau..which is the modern day Palestinians and Arab people which are vastly Muslim). So if we pray and build houses or prayer who function in the spirit of the tabernacle of David (loving Jesus with all our heart soul mind & strength & loving our neighbor as ourself) then God will turn many Muslims to Himself. the boys are doing great.
John is now 26 months and James is 6 1/2 months. They really like each other, I'm excited for when they are older and can really play together. (John still tries to play with James now, we're working on him being gentle with him, he is very affectionate with his little brother but not always a gentle affection) John is talking more and more each day and repeats a lot of what Ryan and I say. He's now telling us that he'll be right back as he tries to open the door and walk out. John is obsessed with cars, trains, planes, pretty much any vehicle, he LOVES. So I spend most of my time cleaning up little cars off the floor. James is starting to move all around, though he hasn't fully crawled yet, he is doing the army crawl and rolling around and get get most anywhere he wants to go. I'm really enjoying this season of motherhood, teaching my children and training them up in the ways of the Lord at a young age. Though some days it can seem mundane but it is so worth it, investing all my time in them now, giving them love and teaching them about the world. We are blessed to have two beautiful boys!! We love them so much!

We have a second vehicle - its a scooter!

Well, we have a second vehicle which is going to help our family out a lot, and its a 150cc scooter. I(Ryan) have had my eye on this kind of scooter for over a year and it finally worked out to get it. I found I guy on craigs list who actually traded me the scooter for one of my laptops (we had two). Gotta love that! The scooter can go about 60mph and gets around 70 mpg! John calls it Daddy's Bike.

New England Flood

This is very interesting. Right now New England is in the biggest flood it has seen in 200 years. And at the same time many christian communities are in a 40 day fast specifically for a third great awakening to be sparked in the new england area. Interestingly enough the flood about 200 years ago happened right in the middle of the 2nd great awakening which was happening simultaneously in that area. One thing is for sure God is shouting to America to wake up, and there is a huge clash in the heavens happening in New England right now. Check this out.

5 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

February 22, 2005 Ryan and I were married. This year we celebrated 5 years of marriage. We met in 2001 at a golf course, we worked in the restaurant there, I was a waitress and he was a cook, at that time I was playing golf for the University of Denver and needed to practice often, Ryan got free golf for working there and wanted to play, so we became good friends and played almost every day after work. After that summer we spent most of the next few years doing long distance, one of those years was me being in New Zealand and Ryan in the states. We sure burned through those phone cards, and he was even able to visit me over Christmas that year. Since we've gotten married we've moved around a lot and have been able to be in ministry the last few years which has been amazing. We have also been blessed with two beautiful boys! The best thing about our years of marriage is to see how the Lord really has blessed our relationship, it is like being married to my best friend, we have really learned how to love and serve each other over the years. The Lord has been very good and kind to us over the years, we have made it a point to pray together each day, to pray over each other and our family, and we have seen so many of our prayers answered. I'm so thankful for these 5 years and am excited for many more to come!

As U.S woman snowboarder Kelly Clark was making her decent into the halfpipe she was singing loud and clear "You Shall Love Me" by IHOP-KC's own Misty Edwards. She ended up taking the bronze metal, and the New York Times actually wrote in their article that she was singing the Misty Edwards song. This song is called "Arms Wide Open" off of Misty's New CD Fling Wide, which just came out in January of this year. It is cool to see the house of prayer impacting people from all walks of life. Interestingly enough if you know why athletes listen to music while they perform it is because that certain song brings them their motivation. So Kelly's source of motivation is a intense song about Jesus dying on the cross to produce love in the human heart (check out the lyrics below). And here the article from the NY Times. The 14 paragraph down mentions her singing. You can also see Misty sing the song below.

The Shoes & The Groan

I have not purchased a pair of shoes in the last 8 years. Not that all my shoes are old, but I usually have one person give me a one new pair per year and those are the shoes I wear for the year. Secretely, I have always wanted a cool pair of puma shoes, but I have never reached the point of seeing the “need” to buy them for myself (you see I hardly ever buy myself any type of clothing, I just wait and someone will usually give me what I need as a hand my down or a gift). But recently I reached a point of wanting a cerain pair of Puma shoes and I felt compelled to go and buy a pair. I searched hi and low and couldn’t find the exact pair at the price I wanted. Actually, I told the Lord that I wouldn’t buy them unless they were the “perfect pair” and only if I found them for under $30. Now, if you know anything about Pumas, to find a sweet pair for under $30 is unheard of. But I could not justify buying a pair of shoes as a missionary on a tight budget for more than $30 (buying shoes for my wife is another story), but I set my face to either forget about the Pumas or just wait until I found the perfect pair for $30 or under. Sally thought I was a little crazy. And frankly I wanted to just forget about it, but for some reason I just couldn’t shake the desire to get them. So I searched all the stores in our area and and search online everywhere and found a lot of cool shoes but none for under $30. I actually found the pair that I wanted online. They were called the Puma Esito XL IT’s. However, not many stores cary this shoe because it is an indoor turf soccer shoe . So I dedided to lay down the idea of getting my Pumas. I actually prayed very specifically, “Lord, If you are trying to speak to me somehow through this pair of shoes then I ask that you would bring them to me.” About a week later I was out with Sally and the boys and we walking into Dicks Sports and low and behold they had the exact pair of Puma Esitos that I wanted! I was shocked, I tried them on and they fit perfect. The sales lady told me that they only had two pairs left the 10.5 that I was wearing and a 13. But they were $54, so I left without buying them.

Now, a side note. I was saved 9 years ago and immediately began to share the gospel with boldness and zeal. I saw a very small amount of fruit but mostly learned hard lessons. However, I have always had a burning desire to see the lost saved and that was why I joined the house of prayer. The Lord showed us that If we would enter into real intercession for the Lost then He would pour out His spirit upon them and they would be saved, (Joel Ch. 2).

Over the years I have developed a dream life wth Holy Spirit in a personal dream language where He shows us what going on in our lives from His perspective. For the past few years I have been having dreams about not having my shoes on. This means that I have not had my feet girded with the gospel of peace (Eph 6), and that the Lord was going to give me grace to “put my shoes back on”, and share the gospel with boldness, compassion and power. So when I began to get this urge for new shoes that seemed to come out of nowhere I was wondering If the Lord was saying that He was going to give fresh grace upon us to preach Christ and Him crucified wherever we found opportunity.

Now, last Wednesday the 11th I was praying and suddenly the burden of the Lord for the lost came upon me and I began to weep over those that don’t know Jesus and are on their way to the Lake of Fire. It was a deep deep groan and violent cry for about 45 minutes. As I was coming out of it, I suddenly felt the urge to go to Dick’s Sports to get the Pumas. Now, I thought this was strange since I was just weeping for the lost and wasn’t thinking about shoes at all, so I wondered if it was actually the Lord putting it upon my heart. So I went home and told Sally who thought I was crazy and so I went back to Dicks “just to look at the shoes again.” I thought for sure that the 10.5’s would be gone and I would be proved to be silly. However, when I walked in I couln’t believe my eyes but they indeed still had the 10.5’s and for some strange reason they dropped the price to $29.95! And so for the first time in 8 years I bought myself a pair of shoes.

So was this really God wanting me to have these new shoes to stir my faith? Could this of been a prophetic picture of Him placing the gospel of peace upon our feet again? Or was this just Him being a good father wanting to give me a good gift (Matt 6). Well you might think its silly but since then there has been an increase on the spirit of intercession upon my life. I have been weeping over the Lost day after day like never before, and I am not alone, many of my friends are experiencing the same tears. I also am getting my desire back to speak boldly and compassionately to the lost when I am out and about. I believe that the Lord is restoring the gospel of peace to His church in this hour. I believe that it is going to start in the place of prayer where we will encounter God’s tears over the Lost, and we inturn will weep with Him crying out for them to be saved. This cry is going to birth a movement of preachers who will proclaim the gospel with power and authority all coming out of a heart of love and compassion. I think there is an open door right now to begin to step out and share the truth about Jesus with our neighbors and I believe we will see God break in with the light of Christ and bring people to genuine
repentance! Pray to the Lord of the harvest that He would sent out laborors (Luke 10:2).

A Wave is Coming

Yesterday 2.13.10. I was at the prayer room talking with a friend in a side room about what God was doing. We were both having the same testimony - travailing prayer for lost souls coming upon God's people. We were testifying about seeing the young and old actually getting a true spirit of intercession & begin to feel the urgency in God's heart about eternity. This is a place where God shares His heart with people and says "will you weep over the lost that are on their way to hell and cry out for mercy."

During this conversation I shared a dream that Holy Spirit had recently given me where I saw a pool with bleachers gathered around it and suddenly waves start coming from the pool. People immediately fill the bleachers and then the waves begin to increase. At first people love the waves I can see them laughing and being refreshed, but shortly after this the waves start becoming so intense that people are getting a little nervous. The waves steadily become stronger & stronger. The dream ended with huge massive waves coming and completely immersing the people and it was so powerful but so awesome at the same time. It was like in Acts ch. 5 when the Glory of God was healing the sick by Peter's shadow but also people that lied in his presence fell down dead. I woke up with the fear of the Lord upon me. I shared this dream with my friend in the side room inside the prayer room and right when we came out into the prayer room Audra Lynn broke out singing this Oracle. I am telling you what a WAVE of God's presence is coming to America and it is going to be both great & terrible.

Holy Desperation Arising

2.11.10 at the IHOP Awakening meeting Praise broke out in a very significant way. There was so much freedom in the room. Actually this night were very significant in many ways. People were coming under such a burden for prayer, and travail was breaking out in people's souls. There is a holy desperation beginning to arise the the hearts of God's people that is going to lead to a groan of intercession that will birth the great harvest. We need the Conviction of Sin Again

Sadly we have lost the understanding of the severity of sin in the church. We have forgotten that sin, or disobedience to Jesus, was so severe that the wrath of God was poured out on Jesus instead of us. We have lost sight of the fact that when we willingly chose sin, even in what we would call small ways, we took the hammer and nails and nailed Jesus to the Cross. Our sin killed Jesus and it killed us. We deserve the Lake of Fire for eternity, but God so loved the world that He gave us His only Son....I along with many others have been crying out for the Holy Spirit to bring conviction of sin again to the church and to the nation for some time now. And on Feb. 6th 2010 I saw a taste of that as I watched the IHOP awakening. Allen Hood and Shelly Hundley with brokeness and tears and trembling brought the most convicting message I have ever heard from a pulpit. People began to weep and wail underneath the weight of their own sin and cry out for mercy. About a year ago I was gripped with the reality that I came to Faith in Christ without ever having a heart level revelation that I deserved Hell. how many of us have ever felt the weight of that? How different would we live if we really understood that not only did we deserve Hell, but that we have been forgiven, we would break out in Praises, living in the Joy of the fact that we are saved by grace! We would be the most humble and joyful people on the planet. And we would hate sin with such a vehement hatred that we would never participate in those old ways again. We need to get wrecked all over again by the simplicity of Christ and Him crucified. Check out this video its about 1.5 hours long and you need to make time to listen to this. It really is crucial to get this in our spirits in this hour. Let us return to the Lord!!

The Privilege of Prayer Leading

Yesterday I was given the amazing privilege to prayer lead a 2 hour set at IHOP in the Global Prayer Room with worship leader Audra Lynn, who has become an internationaly recognized talent. There was probably only about 150-175 people in the room but because of the technology that God TV has brought in to the prayer room we reach over 160 nations 24/7, and there are always at any given point at least 3,000 people from the nations watching the prayer room through web-stream. So it is no small thing to lead the body of Christ in focused prayer like this. Also, it is so easy to stir up your faith when praying with musicians like Audra Lynn because the team is so talented and flows together so well that it really allows the room to enter into enjoyable, sustainable and effective, breakthrough prayer. Check it out and watch how the team breaks the prayer down into a focused chorus and then pounds the heavens for the breakthrough.

The Hope in Haiti

One of the Stories in this video is about a church that had 4,000 people in it, and miraculously only 6 people out of the 4,000 were killed in the massive earthquake! God truly is a refuge to those that trust in HIM. Check it out, and I think that we should all meditate on Psalm 91 in light of this.

Christian Family Threatened by UK Homeschool Bill

Revelation ch. 13 tells us that in the last days there will be a global government regulating and controlling everything even down to buying and selling. We also know from scripture that the anti-christ spirit is behind this global government of control and that when Jesus comes back He judges and brings down this government. You know there is a place for laws and legislation that helps keep order in our lands, but government is no substitute for family. God ordained children to be raised and taught by their parents 1st and foremost, not for them to be raised by a teacher that tells them that the world was created by a "big bang". In Europe right now there is a push to force kids into public schools instead of having parents teach their own children. This is nothing more than a subtle anti-christ spirit working to in-doctrinate the youth with anti-biblical concepts. Yes, there are some weird people doing weird things to their children, but to make a law out of a few very isolated examples is just man's way of trying to fix things apart from Jesus. What we need to do is spend our time and effort building countries that have strong family values rather than trying to set up pre-cautions because of the moral decline of the family. This is just like teaching birth control rather than teaching abstinence. What humanity needs is a change on the inside, in the heart not on the outside with a law, and only Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit can accomplish this. check out this video

The Great Christian Hope

He shall exalt the "horn" of the Righteous

As I was in the prayer room during this set and I was actually inquiring of the Lord concerning America. I was specifically asking about if and when Judgement was coming to our nation. As I was asking this the Horn player from the second video started playing a solo and I felt the impression of the Holy Spirit say - Psalm 75 (which I have no idea at all what it is about). Here is what is says:

"Ps 75 - 1 We give thanks to You, God; we give thanks to You, for Your name is near. People tell about Your wonderful works. 2 "When I choose a time, I will judge fairly. 3 When the earth and all its inhabitants shake, I am the One who steadies its pillars. Selah 4 I say to the boastful, 'Do not boast,' and to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horn. 5 Do not lift up your horn against heaven or speak arrogantly.' " 6 Exaltation does not come from the east, the west, or the desert, 7 for God is the judge: He brings down one and exalts another. 8 For there is a cup in the Lord's hand, full of wine blended with spices, and He pours from it. All the wicked of the earth will drink, draining it to the dregs. 9 As for me, I will tell about Him forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob. 10 "I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up."

This was a profound sign to me since the horn player was playing at the exact moment I was reading this. I felt like the Lord was using the horn as a sign to confirm the fact that we was speaking Ps. 75 to our nation. Verse 2 & 10 were the most highlighted to me. In verse 2 He says I will choose a time to Judge, so in other words His judgements are coming and when they do come they will be just and right and He will steady the pillars Himself. Pillars are a term that Jesus Himself used in Rev. Ch. 3 describing the faithful & perseverant saints. This spoke to my heart because when Judgements break out He will indeed steady His people. There is much to this so I am going to continue to mediate upon this Psalm.

In a Water Emergency - STERIPEN

So I am very excited because I just received my STERIPEN CLASSIC today! So you might be wondering what this thing is. Well this device is a survival tool used by professional outdoorsman & the military to cleanse water found anywhere into safe drinkable H2O! How it works it the pen shaped device has a special ultraviolet bulb on it that disrupts the DNA of 99.9% of microbes when placed in water in just 90 seconds. I bought the Classic Version which runs on AA batteries - preferably NiMH Hydro rechargeables. So you can also see from the Picture above that it come with a water bottle and a special lid which is used to filter out debris.

So, say you are in the wilderness and you need water from a steam but the water is murky and normally undrinkable, all you need to do is run that murky water through the special lid which removes all debris and allows the more clear water to filter into the bottle. Then you pull the filter out of the special lid and press the on button and put the STERIPEN firmly down into the lid, which creates an air tight seal and allows the bulb to immerse into the water, then turn the bottle upside down, swirl the water around and when the water is clean and ready to drink the bulb automatically turns off. Awesome!

I have a good friend how has used this to drink from streams and rivers and he is also using it right now in Haiti to purify water for the people over there. I found it on a web site called manventure for $65.00 + shipping. The bulb will cleanse 8,000 1 liter bottles before it runs out and lithium ion or NiMH batteries will do about 200 liters.

I have been having unusual prophetic activity over the last year where I have felt Holy Spirit telling us to prepare for crisis, amazingly enough the Haiti crisis has hit and many people who have been "hearing" the same thing from the Lord are prepared and taking action. One crazy thing is that I have been storing up food in 5 gallon buckets in a vacuum packed seal and this is a perfect way to send food to Haiti, so I am going to be sending a lot of our food down there. I also feel that the U.S. could see similar catastrophes in the coming days and so without fear we are getting ready to minister to those in need in that hour by doing preparation now. I think the classic version is the best one but there are others that are smaller in size etc. It doesn't come with batteries so here are the best rechargeables that I have found.

Just for another perspective on all that's happening in Haiti.

This afternoon, feeling helpless, we decided to take a van down to Champs Mars (the area around the palace) to look for people needing medical care to bring to Matthew 25, the guesthouse where we are staying which has been transformed into a field hospital. Since we arrived in Port au Prince everyone has told us that you cannot go into the area around the palace because of violence and insecurity. I was in awe as we walked into downtown, among the flattened buildings , in the shadow of the fallen palace, amongst the swarms of displaced people there was calm and solidarity. We wound our way through the camp asking for injured people who needed to get to the hospital. Despite everyone telling us that as soon as we did this we would be mobbed by people, I was amazed as we approached each tent people gently pointed us towards their neighbors, guiding us to those who were suffering the most. We picked up 5 badly injured people and drove towards an area where Ellie and Berto had passed a woman earlier. When they saw her she was lying on the side of the road with a broken leg screaming for help, as they were on foot they could not help her at the time so we went back to try to find her. Incredibly we found her relatively quickly at the top of a hill of shattered houses. The sun was setting and the community helped to carry her down the hill on a refrigerator door, tough looking guys smiled in our direction calling out “bonswa Cherie” and “kouraj”.

When we got back to Matthew 25 it was dark and we carried the patients back into the soccer field/tent village/hospital where the team of doctors had been working tirelessly all day. Although they had officially closed down for the evening, they agreed to see the patients we had brought. Once our patients were settled in we came back into the house to find the doctors amputating a foot on the dining room table. The patient lay calmly, awake but far away under the fog of ketamine. Half way through the surgery we heard a clamor outside and ran out to see what it was. A large yellow truck was parked in front of the gate and rapidly unloading hundreds of bags of food over our fence, the hungry crowd had already begun to gather and in the dark it was hard to decide how to best distribute the food. Knowing that we could not sleep in the house with all of this food and so many starving people in the neighborhood, our friend Amber (who is experienced in food distribution) snapped into action and began to get everyone in the crowd into a line that stretched down the road. We braced ourselves for the fighting that we had heard would come but in a miraculous display of restraint and compassion people lined up to get the food and one by one the bags were handed out without a single serious incident.

During the food distribution the doctors called to see if anyone could help to bury the amputated leg in the backyard. As I have no experience with food distribution I offered to help with the leg. I went into the back with Ellie and Berto and we dug a hole and placed the leg in it, covering it with soil and cement rubble. By the time we got back into the house the food had all been distributed and the patient Anderson was waking up. The doctors asked for a translator so I went and sat by his stretcher explaining to him that the surgery had gone well and he was going to live. His family had gone home so he was alone so Ellie and I took turns sitting with him as he came out from under the drugs. I sat and talked to Anderson for hours as he drifted in and out of consciousness. At one point one of the Haitian men working at the hospital came in and leaned over Anderson and said to him in kreyol “listen man even if your family could not be here tonight we want you to know that everyone here loves you, we are all your brothers and sisters”. Cat and I have barely shed a tear through all of this, the sky could fall and we would not bat an eye, but when I told her this story this morning the tears just began rolling down her face, as they are mine as I am writing this. Sometimes it is the kindness and not the horror that can break the numbness that we are all lost in right now.

So, don’t believe Anderson Cooper when he says that Haiti is a hotbed for violence and riots, it is just not the case. In the darkest of times, Haiti has proven to be a country of brave, resilient and kind people and it is that behavior that is far more prevalent than the isolated incidents of violence. Please pass this on to as many people as you can so that they can see the light of Haiti, cutting through the darkness, the light that will heal this nation.

We are safe. We love you all and I will write again when I can. Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
